AOD Supports Local and National Charities

AOD is proud to support local and national charities through our Charity Auction and other activities. One hundred percent of proceeds from the Charity Auction are donated directly to our beneficiaries. At AOD 2011, we raised over $1,000 each for the California Academy of Sciences, the fantastic museum and research facility right in the heart of Golden Gate Park, and Audio Theater for Our Troops, which provides much-needed entertainment to our soldiers, with free theatrical productions from some of our best performers and writers.

We will be hosting our auction beginning at Saturday 4pm.

We will also preview some Charity Auction items on this very website. We hope to have another successful Charity Auction for AOD 2012.

California Academy of Sciences

The California Academy of Sciences is the only place in the world to combine a natural history museum, aquarium, planetarium and world-class research facility under one roof. All housed in the world's largest public green building topped with a 2.5 acre living roof, it blends seamlessly into San Francisco's iconic Golden Gate Park. We Heart Japan

We heart Japan is a volunteer organization comprised of anime industry and ex-industry professionals that is dedicated to bringing together the anime community to raise money for the vicitms of the Earthquake and Tsunami that occurred in Japan in March 2011. To date we have held 3 events, as well as provided support and acted as a bridge for fundraising activities for numerous conventions and groups. All proceeds go to JCIE's Japan NGO Earthquake Relief and Recovery Fund. www.weheartjapan.com

Audio Theater for our Troops

The mission of Audio Theater for our Troops is to provide respite and entertainment to current and former members of U.S. military organizations and their allies via free audio theatrical productions featuring the talents of Hollywood and Broadway’s finest performers and writers. www.atfot.org

In 2010, AOD sponsored an auction raising over $2300 for Child's Play, a video game industry charity which works to improve the lives of children in hospitals. In 2005 and 2006, AOD sponsored two charity auctions which benefited the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and drew donations from Pixar's John Lasseter, actors Seth Green, Robin Williams, and John Goodman, Dark Horse Comics, Japanese anime director Takeshi Mori, and many others.

Contribute Items

If you are interest in contributing an item for the Charity Auction, we will be happy to work with you. This can be a unique way of clearing some space, and giving an awesome item to a collector fan, while doing something good for charity.
